DEADY THE BEAR
He's cute, he's cuddly, he'll eat you for lunch! The galaxy's greatest evil (a giant, tentacled skull named Urkor Malravenus) escapes confinement on his home world (the cemetery planet of Necronus) and possesses a discarded teddy bear here on Earth. And thus, Deady is born! Voltaire's evil teddy bear creation entered the world in a series of graphic novels published by Sirius Entertainment. This series featured an incredible list of guest writers and artist that included such luminaries as Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, Gris Grimly, Roman Dirge, Junko Mizuno, Eric Pigors, Tokidoki, David Mack and many, many more. The books lead to multiple licensing deals that saw Deady get immortalized in over a dozen vinyl toy releases, a plush that was available at ever major amusement park in America, a viral video game played by millions and even a Hot Wheels car. Some of the more exciting Deady toys have included collaborations with the popular on-line game AdventureQuest Worlds (where Deady and Voltaire appear live every friday the 13th), cross-overs with the ubiquitous Skelanimals brand and even a "Deady as Stitch" vinyl toy made by Disney and Mindstyle. Deady's plans for world domination are full steam ahead with an ample schedule of new Deady toy releases for 2011.
